Q: I have a TWIC. How do I get a job on the docks?

A: The Port of Houston Authority does not hire any of the labor that works on the docks at the public or private terminals. To apply for those jobs, contact the various unions directly:

Q: How can I check the status of my application?

A: Log into your Careers portal account for application status.


Q: Can I just fill out a paper application or email my resume to apply for a position?

A: All applications must be submitted through the application portal.


Q: I’m interested in an internship. How do I get one?

A: Port Houston’s internship program is very competitive. We receive hundreds of applications each year.

Applications are accepted online from posting (mid-November) through early March. Positions are left open until the position is filled and closed when an offer is made and accepted.
