Q: What paper work is needed to pick up cargo?   

A: You need a Dock Receipt/Pick-Up Order. This paperwork must contain the name of vessel, description of commodities, and the bill of landing number.

A: You need a dock receipt/delivery order. This paperwork must contain the name of vessel, description of commodities and booking number


Q: Who do I contact about my bill? 

A: Call the Port at 713-670-2400 and ask for Customer Billing.


Q: Who do I talk to about bringing in explosives on my ship? 

A: Please note class 1.4 explosive cargo will not be allowed on the terminal (per the tariff) until the day of the vessels arrival. Also, radioactive material (class 7) must meet shipping and handling requirements and will only be accepted after documents have been submitted and approved by the Port Fire Chief.


Q: What’s the air draft at the 610 bridge?

Q: I have questions about containers. Who should I speak with?

  1. Notice: The Houston Ship Channel above the I-610 (Sidney Sherman) bridge is open to ship traffic, but daylight restricted and limited to 106’ beam and 33’ draft. The Turning Basin is limited to 25’ draft upstream of City Dock 13 and City Dock 2.
