With the demand for more perishables being shipped to the U.S., Port Houston’s new temperature-controlled cargo facility is soon to be built at our Bayport Container Terminal. The trade development team also puts potential customers in touch with Houston’s many economic development organizations, which assist relocating business and help them obtain tax breaks and other financial incentives, as well as organize and sponsor local port, industry, and trade-related events including the Breakbulk Americas Conference, the JOC Gulf Shipping Conference and TradeLink workshops.
Inquiries from outside the U.S. are welcome. Members of the trade development team can speak Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese. Trade development representatives are maintained in Latin America, Brazil, and 14 countries in and around Asia. The Marketing and External Communications Department handles all marketing, external communications, promotions and business-to-business advertising for the port, as well as conduct market research, statistical analysis and forecasting.
