Port Houston’s trade development team engages with customers, beneficial cargo owners, shippers, carriers, freight forwarders and other port users to develop trade and cargo business opportunities at the Port, including securing new services around the world and offering connections to support supply chains. The department also attends industry events, nationally and internationally, to continue to develop the presence of Port Houston as a leading North America gateway for trade.

The trade development team also puts our customers in touch with Houston’s many economic development organizations, which assist relocating businesses and help them obtain tax breaks and other financial incentives. In addition, the team organizes and sponsors industry-related events. You can find our industry events calendar here to see where we will be next.

Our team also conducts TradeLink Workshops for exporting, as well as roundtables for various industry groups and customers.

International inquiries are welcome. Members of the trade development team can speak Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese. We have trade development representatives that are based internationally in Europe, Latin America and Asia.
