Peter Michael Svensson, born April 1969, married to Linda Svensson since 1990 and father of two children, Stephanie and Nicolas. Started his shipping carrier as an apprentice with Seaside Navigation ApS, Denmark, in 1988 and joined Armada Shipping Inc in Houston in 1990.

Relocated to Denmark to take up a position as operations assistant with Clipper Denmark in 1992. Shortly after the return to Denmark he was appointed responsible operator for the newly started steel liner service from Europe to USA. In the years to come the service steadily developed and following the merger between Van Ommeren Shipping and Clipper Bulk Shipping in the summer of 2000, Peter was relocated to Rotterdam to take up a position as Operations Manager for the new VOC Steel Services BV (today Clipper Bulk Shipping Ltd).

Following the closing of the office in Rotterdam in 2010 and a short lay-over in Copenhagen relocated to Houston in October 2010 to further develop the steel service. During 2011, Bossclip, a steel parcel service from Brazil to NCSA and USG was placed under his responsibility, today Clipper Bulk Shipping Ltd. In July 2015 Peter was appointed Senior Vice President and Head of Clipper Americas Inc.

Peter’s shipping career has been around steels since 1992 when Clipper started their steel service from Europe to USA and later Mexico. 31 years later the service is loading 3-4 vessels per month with 100-130,000 mt of steel products from Antwerp to Newhaven, Camden, Savannah, Mobile, Houston, Altamira and Veracruz. A shuttle service between Mobile and Tampico was added in 2014 and has since performed more than 340 voyages loaded more than 6 million tons of steels.

1 January 2016 assumed the responsibility of Compass Rose Shipping Ltd., a joint venture company between Clipper and Monomeros who celebrated it’s 31st anniversary in January 2023. Compass Rose transports fertilizers and urea to the Monomeros factories in Colombia. Clipper Americas is the North/Central and South American HQ for the Clipper Group and responsible for fixing of cargoes/vessels in this region and to provide support for the offices in Hong Kong and Copenhagen.
