Gate Information
Efficiency is
Essential at
our Gates
Port Houston operates two of the most efficient container terminals along the U.S. Gulf Coast. Recognizing the importance of maintaining and improving container performance, the Port is dedicated to linking supply chains, minimizing transport costs, and maximizing local, national, and international trade.
Container Terminal Gate Processes
To uphold this efficiency and further improve operations, Port Houston adeptly manages traffic flow and provides a truck registration program for easy and convenient yard tracking. Below, drivers will find the Port’s gate processes for entering and exiting both the Bayport and Barbours Cut Container Terminals:
To access the container terminals beyond our normal operating hours, please complete our Extended Gate Request Form.
Express Pass
Express Pass is a mandatory appointment required for truckers accessing Port Houston’s Container Terminals.
The customer service portal, Lynx, allows trucking companies to initiate trucker transactions before arriving at the terminal. This provides truck drivers with a quicker entrance to the terminal and supports Yard Planning efforts to promptly service drivers.
