Current Projects

Current Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) include adding or improving motorized and non-motorized transportation infrastructure, stormwater and sanitary sewer infrastructure, city facilities and other key projects.


BCT Wharf 3 Rehab

BCT Wharf 3 Rehab

This project consists of the design of the rehabilitation work to be performed on Wharf 3 to accommodate 100 gage ship to shore (STS) cranes.  The design consists of creating over 200 construction drawings and 200 technical specifications to upgrade Wharf 3, originally constructed in the 1980’s to support the larger STS cranes, and consequently providing service to post-Panamax ships.

Barbours Cut Lash Dock Demolition

Barbours Cut Lash Dock Demolition

The project consists of the demolition of the Lash Dock located at the East End of Barbours Cut Terminal. The work includes the removal of all concrete structures such as decks and piles and dredging.

Bayport Rail Spur Construction

Bayport Rail Spur Construction

Construction of approximately 6500 track feet of rail at the Bayport Terminal. This rail will cross State Highway (SH) 146 and connect the existing rail from Strang Rail line to within 900 feet of the Container Freight Station (CFS) Road in the Bayport Intermodal Facility.  This project will also include clearing, grubbing, drainage, rail crossings, signalization and perhaps a sound wall, if required.

Turning Basin - Demolition of Seafarers Building

This project will demolish the entire building structure, slab, pool, pool deck, parking lot to grade on the existing site.

Bayport - Construct Container Yard 7

Bayport - Construct Container Yard 7

Construction of approximately 50 acres of reinforced and roller compacted 18-inch concrete pavement, including the construction of a storm water collection system, water and sanitary sewer mains, high mast lighting and communication conduit.

JacintoPort – Repair of Deck & Back Up Pavement on Wharf Nos. 1, 2 & 3

JacintoPort – Repair of Deck & Back Up Pavement on Wharf Nos. 1, 2 & 3

This project consists of repairing existing holes in the deck at JacintoPort Terminal.
