Community Outreach

Port Houston is committed to continued engagement with the many communities surrounding the Houston Ship Channel. We believe in contributing to the quality of life in our local area and our outreach strategies help us manage the balance between our business efforts and our role as a neighbor to the community.

These strategies include increasing public awareness about the greater Port of Houston, providing an open line of communication between Port Houston and the community, and investing in partnerships that bring a positive impact to our region.

 

Port Commission Community Advisory Council (PCCAC)

The original Chairman’s Citizen Advisory Council, which began in 2013, has been redeveloped and is being relaunched in 2020 as the Port Commission Community Advisory Council (PCCAC).  This updated platform will help Port Houston leadership better engage community stakeholders who have a vested interest in what we do and who are, in some way, connected to our mission.

The PCCAC, comprised of 14 individuals, is a diverse group, representing different communities along the Houston Ship Channel and various special interest groups.  This council will help promote deeper engagement and understanding between local communities and Port Houston, as we work to provide a more open line of communication and robust dialog opportunities.

Port Houston is committed to building partnerships with its surrounding neighbors and seeking greater community and stakeholder involvement in the activities and decision-making processes of the organization.
