Port Houston’s Amy Seymour Named NMSA Safety Innovator of the Year

Port Houston Chief Port Security and Emergency Operations (PSEO) Officer Amy Seymour has been named the recipient of the National Maritime Safety Association's (NMSA) 2026 Safety Innovator of the Year Award, recognizing her leadership and contributions to advancing workplace safety in the maritime industry.

Presented annually, the NMSA Safety Innovator of the Year Award honors an individual or organization that has made a recent, significant, and innovative contribution to improving occupational safety and health in marine cargo handling operations. Recipients are recognized for implementing groundbreaking safety measures, enhancing training programs, introducing new tools and processes, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Every day, employees, contractors, truck drivers, mariners, and customers rely on Port Houston to safely move cargo through the nation's busiest maritime gateway. As Port Houston continues to grow and invest in new infrastructure, maintaining a strong culture of safety remains essential to protecting people and supporting reliable operations.
